Hello, and welcome — and congratulations on taking a meaningful first step. My name is Joab Russo. I hold a Certificate IV in Mental Health, and I draw on the knowledge and competencies gained through this training to provide grounded, trauma-informed support and practical guidance informed by established mental health principles. This professional foundation helps create a safe, respectful environment where people feel heard, understood, and able to explore their experiences at their own pace.
I counsel individuals and couples, as they navigate emotional, social, and spiritual challenges, helping them move toward greater clarity, stability, and fulfilment. My work is shaped not only by professional training, but more so by lived experience and decades of dedicated spiritual inquiry and reflection. At the heart of my approach is a practical spiritual understanding that offers clear explanations and guidance for life’s challenges. I help clients explore this understanding in a grounded, accessible way, so it becomes something they can apply directly in their own lives.

My services are not psychological therapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment. They offer a supportive, non-clinical space that some individuals find helpful alongside — or as an alternative to — more traditional approaches.
My online counselling services are available to anyone, globally as well as in Australia, including self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

Scope of Support
My counselling services provide non-clinical mental health and emotional wellbeing support, integrating practical mental health principles with spiritually informed guidance. Sessions are supportive and reflective in nature and do not include psychological therapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment. If clinical or medical support is needed, appropriate referrals may be recommended. -
While my professional training provides an important framework, the heart of my work — and what clients consistently describe as the most meaningful and effective part of our sessions — is the spiritual understanding developed through long personal practice and experience. Rather than following a single theory or rigid model, I integrate mental-health–informed insight with practical spiritual guidance, helping people make sense of difficult experiences, reconnect with inner clarity, and approach life with greater balance and confidence.
Many people arrive feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or searching for direction. Through conversation, reflection, and practical insight, they often discover a clearer understanding of themselves and their circumstances, allowing them to move forward with greater calm, perspective, and purpose.
I offer a supportive and confidential online sanctuary to slow down, feel understood, and explore what has been weighing on you. Sessions are person-centred, gently structured, and grounded in compassion, presence, and respect for your individual values, beliefs and lived experiences. The intention is to offer insights and tools that you can apply meaningfully in your everyday life.
